The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed receiver Mike Williams and running back Peyton Hillis to contracts, ESPN reports.

Williams signed a six-year, $40.25 million contract that includes $15 million guaranteed.

"We are pleased to have Mike signed to a long-term contract that ensures he will continue to be part of the exciting young core of players we are building around," Bucs general manager Mark Dominik said Wednesday in a news release, via ESPN.

"Mike has earned this contract through his hard work and production the past three seasons and we are looking forward to seeing him continue that career development as a Buccaneer," Dominik continued.

Securing Williams until 2018 provides a viable weapon across from star receiver Vincent Jackson.  Last season, Williams had 63 receptions for 996 yards and nine touchdowns.

Tampa Bay selected Williams, 26, in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL draft.  He's produced for the team, recording 2,731 receiver yards and 23 touchdowns in three seasons.

The Buccaneers also signed running back Peyton Hillis to a one-year deal, according to NFL.com.   The 27-year-old would play behind starter Doug Martin.

Hillis enjoyed his best season in 2010 with the Cleveland Browns, where he rushed for 1,177 yards and 11 touchdowns.  He's struggled with injuries since, rushing for 587 yards for the Browns in 2011 and 308 yards for the Kansas City Chiefs last season.

Tampa Bay finished 7-9 last season.
