Technology is helping Ozzie the goose get the second chance at life he deserves.

After Ozzie accidentally broke his leg he had to have it amputated at the joint. He went five months without a leg until three companies (3D Printing Systems, digital design firm BunnyCorp and the Centre for Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing at Central University of Technology in South Africa) created him a leg and foot prosthesis using a 3-D printer, reported CNET.

"[Ozzie] was a bit confused about his new leg as he has been without one for about 5 months, however he has to date stood on it and started walking," BunnyCorp wrote on a blog that documented the process of getting Ozzie his new leg.

3-D printed legs are typically used on humans, but in some cases animals (such as Derby the dog and Buttercup the duck) benefit from the new technology too.

Seeing these animals experience their new prosthetic limbs is always a heartwarming experience.
