The 2015 Webby Awards are going to be a big event for Vice News and a handful of television show hosts.

Vice News racked up the most nominations with 17, ahead of CollegeHumor, which received nine, and Funny or Die and HBO with eight each.

Jimmy Fallon, Ellen DeGeneres and Jimmy Kimmel are being recognized across a variety of categories. Fallon's "Tonight Show" website is up for the top online humor page, "Mean Tweets" and "Halloween Candy Prank," both "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" segments, are up for awards and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" is nominated of content marketing.

All nominees are picked by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences, with a select few Academy members picking the winners. Among those choosing on the Academy are Conan O' Brien, Ariana Huffington and Tumblr CEO David Karp.

The public has a separate say in making sure their favorites don't go home empty-handed. Anyone can also cast votes for the Webby People's Voice Awards via the event's website until April 23.

Over the past 20 years, the Webby Awards have become for the Internet what the Academy Awards are for Hollywood. Between the often hilarious five-word limit on acceptance speeches It has adapted along with the web, expanding to more than 100 categories.

This year's event will be hosted by comedian Hannibal Buress on May 18 in New York.
