There are some new faces coming to Atlanta when AMC's "The Walking Dead" returns in February. The show added Ross Marquand (Paul Newman on "Mad Men") to the cast, but details surrounding his character are being kept under wraps, according to Entertainment Weekly.

It's also not clear in which episode Marquand will make his debut, but EW believes that the actor could be playing Aaron, a character from Robert Kirkman's comic books who first appeared in issue No. 67. In the comics, Aaron is gay and in a relationship with a man named Eric. He meets up with Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and the rest of the gang as they make their way to Alexandria Safe-Zone, a walled-off community safe from zombies.

Kirkman previously hinted that Aaron would be joining the show soon during an appearance on the Nov. 30 episode of "Talking Dead." He said that a "very prominent gay character from the comics" would be added but kept the details to a minimum.

He also revealed that Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) is straight despite speculation about his sexuality.

"We play Daryl Dixon as being somewhat asexual on the show," he said. "He's a very introverted character and I think that's some of his appeal. I do have to clear something up, though: in the letter column of the comic that I do, I mentioned that there was a possibility early on about making Daryl Dixon's character gay.

"It caused quite a hubbub online and I just wanted to clarify that the possibility is there and that I would have been fine with it, the network would have been fine with it, but we ultimately didn't do that. I can make it official: Daryl Dixon is straight."
