Emily Kinney is finally speaking about her character's death on "The Walking Dead" and the 29-year-old actress has a lot to say. Following the premiere of the midseason finale on Sunday, titled "Coda," Kinney sat down with TV Line to dish on the shocking ending.

On the Nov. 30 episode, fans sadly had to say goodbye to Beth Greene after she was shot in the head by Officer Dawn. Kinney said she found out about the death back in August and was shocked producers wanted to kill off her character.

The actress explained that she believes there was still more to Beth's storyline and she would have liked to see the show explore her romantic relationship with Daryl (Norman Reedus).

"I wasn't ready for it to be over," she said. "I think the Beth character, in particular... more could've been done with a teenager growing up [in that world]. I did not see it coming at all, especially this season. It's weird, because I would've been ok with [this happening] in the second season or the third season, when I was like, 'Oh, maybe this character is coming to a close. What else is there to do with her?' But now I feel differently... I feel like there was still so much to do [explore], like, what could have happened with Daryl."

A Bethyl romance has long been talked about among fans but never actually happened on the show. Kinney told TV Line that she definitely started to see sparks fly between the two.

"They never really told us what it was supposed to be... I think it was a situation where they were getting to know each other. First, they were just trying to get along at all, because I don't think that they saw each other's point of view very well," Kinney said. "And then as the story went along they maybe became friends, and I do think that it started to sort of go, 'Oh, what more could this be? Could it keep going into something else?"
