Benedict Cumberbatch dodged “Doctor Strange” rumors during his red carpet appearance at the Hollywood Film Awards.

A CBS reporter attempted to confirm Cumberbatch’s rumored casting in the Marvel production by congratulating him for landing the role, but the actor refused to give a straight answer.

"I don't know about that; do you know about that?” Cumberbatch said.

The even with the reporter’s insistence, the actor added, "No, no, check your notes."

Check out the video below to see Cumberbatch refuse to give the reporter a possible scoop. The “Star Trek” actor is just one of many actors rumored to have met with the studio for the lead role in “Doctor Strange.”

Joaquin Phoenix, Keanu Reeves and Colin Farrell have all reportedly met with Marvel, but Phoenix is rumored to have pulled himself out of the running. Cumberbatch is allegedly the studio’s number one pick to take the role at the moment.

“Multiple agency sources have told The Wrap that Cumberbatch remains high on the studio's list and they were surprised when the actor's name was omitted from this week's round of media reports,” according to The Wrap.

“Marvel has long wanted to be in business with Cumberbatch, who is as hot as ever thanks to the awards buzz surrounding his performance in ‘The Imitation Game.’ However, Cumberbatch's schedule may prove too tricky to overcome, as he has to film the new season of 'Sherlock' and plans to do a play next year.”

Multiple reports claim Cumberbatch’s casting in “Doctor Strange,” but Marvel has yet to confirm the news.
