Universal Studios executive Donna Langley believes the “Fast & Furious” cast will make three more films before ending the franchise.

During a roundtable discussion with other Hollywood executives for The Hollywood Reporter, Langley dished details about the future of the franchise and the direction of the films.

“We think there's at least three more,” Langley said. “Paul is, and always will be, an integral part of the story. But there are many other great characters, and it's also an opportunity to introduce new characters. I think it's still a growing franchise.

She added, “We'll see what happens with Furious 7, obviously, but our box office has grown over the past three or four films and internationally, in particular. So we think that there's more to mine there. But we're of course very mindful about fatigue.”

Langley’s comments come after news director Justin Lin returning to the "Fast & Furious" franchise to help wrap up the story. According to Deadline, the studio signed on Lin to direct multiple films in hopes he would helm the “Fast & Furious” movies.

"I am not getting anything from the studio on this, but here's what I hear: I expect Lin and Universal to begin talking again about him directing a multi-part production that will lead to multiple movies shot together and will wave the checkered flag on the Fast & Furious franchise," according to Deadline.

"This would have to happen after he directs the first two episodes of the second season of HBO's True Detective, but to me it just makes too much sense not to happen."

Universal has yet to release a comment regarding Lin’s possible return to the franchise.

“FURIOUS 7” is slated to hit theaters April 3, 2015.
