FX is giving "American Horror Story: Freak Show" fans their first glimpse under the big top with a minute-long character tease video. In the trailer we are introduced to the circus "freaks" which include a bearded lady (Kathy Bates), a three-breasted woman (Angela Bassett), a strongman (Michael Chiklis), conjoined twins (Sarah Paulson), and a man with lobster hands (Evan Peters).

Emma Roberts' character wasn't in the trailer but it was previously revealed that she would play a girl named Maggie, who doesn't appear to be a "freak" at first. Jessica Lange was also in the character tease video as Elsa Mars, the owner of the circus act.

Season 4 is set in the mid-1950s and centers around the last remaining freak show in America. An official description reads: "The year is 1952. A troupe of curiosities has just arrived to town, coinciding with the strange emergence of a dark entity that savagely threatens the lives of townsfolk and freaks alike. This is the story of the performers and their desperate journey of survival amidst the dying world of the American carny experience."

Also joining the cast is Gabourey Sidibe, John Carroll Lynch as the Clown Killer, Patti LaBelle and Jyoti Amge, the world's smallest woman.

Roberts previously told E! News that "Freak Show" would be a lot scarier than "Coven" and admitted that the script gave her nightmares.

"I have to say, 'Freak show' is really scarier... I read the script and I was having nightmares."

FX released two new videos last week that introduced a terrifying clown, a spooky jester, a man with a split tongue, a three-legged acrobat and a sword swallower. Check those video out here.

"American Horror Story: Freak Show" premieres Oct. 8 at 10 p.m.
