E3 2014 was the first time gamers meet Pagan Min, the new villain in the "Far Cry" franchise. Ubisoft's "Far Cry 4" Executive Producer Dan Hay recently spoke to The Examiner about the character's development process.

"We created an environment where these personalities are steeped in the environment, they're part of the environment," Hay said. "We chase the performance. We wanted to make sure that when this character steps up to you, you have a real feeling about [Pagan Min]. We talked about the idea of if [Vaas and Pagan] were in a cell together, you locked the door and basically turned out the lights, who wins?"

The producer explained they weren't necessarily trying to make someone more evil than Vaas. The goal of the game was to make a dynamic character who you can't necessarily predict their actions.

"The real question is then, the morning comes everybody is wondering who is still alive [but] what happens if they walked out together? What happens if they were buddies? So I think we created a really compelling character," Hay told The Examiner. "I think we chase and built an amazing performance. We discovered it as we went along like some of the other characters we make."
