Universal Orlando Resort announced that "The Walking Dead" will be returning for the third year in a row their Halloween Horror Nights with a spooky maze based on the show's fourth season, USA Today reports.

For the past 24 years, the park has transformed into one giant horror-themed celebration on certain nights between September 19 and November 1. USA Today also reports that this year Universal Studios Hollywood will also be adding a zombie-filled maze based on Season 4 of the show.

Halloween Horror Nights director Mile Aiello told the newspaper that guests will start the maze at the fall of the prison and will have to make their way towards Terminus while "escaping" zombies.

"They'll be inside the Big Spot where we're literally building a helicopter above peoples' heads," Aiello told said. "We've got the country club with all the hanging walkers. We've got the burned-down moonshine shack that Daryl and Beth find..."

"The Walking Dead" executive producer Greg Nicotero will be teaming up with Universal to ensure the maze will be scary and spooky.

"The greatest moments from Season 4 will be captured. You'll be able to enter those moments and run from the zombies," Nicotero said in a video.

"There will be more scare-actors in this maze than any other in the history of the event. Literally double the cast," Aiiello said.

USA Today said the mazes will include "hordes" of walkers. "The Walking Dead" maze will be one of eight mazes this year but Universal has not announced what the other mazes will be.

"It's always a careful decision," Aiello said of bringing "The Walking Dead" back for a third year. "Fortunately, it's a brand people have really attached themselves to, including many atypical horror fans who otherwise might not have discovered the genre or found themselves at Horror Nights. 'The Walking Dead' is a great way to bridge that gap."
