Buffalo Bills linebacker Brandon Spikes seemingly compared playing for the New England Patriots to being a slave and called Pats fans "MassHoles" in a Twitter rant.

The decision by Patriots coach Bill Belichick to place Spikes on IR before NFL divisional playoffs didn't sit well with the linebacker. Spikes, who spent four years in New England, seemingly still begrudges the Patriots for that move, and on Wednesday Spikes spoke out on Twitter.

After New England didn't re-sign him in the offseason, Spikes agreed to a one-year deal with rival Buffalo.

There appeared to be more behind Spikes going on IR last season. His agent insisted the decision to go on IR with a knee injury wasn't mutual.

"Brandon had every intention to keep playing throughout the playoffs, despite the pain he was experiencing throughout the season," Spikes' agent said Jan. 13 in a statement, via NFL.com. "We never had a single conversation with the Patriots in which they threatened to release him if he didn't accept the injured reserve designation."

An ESPN report in January indicated Spikes's move to IR was punishment for being late to a team meeting.
