Austin City Limits is pushing the boundaries with their first two-weekend festival this year.

With more than 120 bands on the lineup, the festival extended their normal three-day event to six days this year. The festival kicks off Oct. 4-6 and Oct. 11-13, the loaded bill includes Depeche Mode, The Cure, Kings of Leon and Lionel Ritchie and supergroup Atoms For Peace.

Six days of music will descend on Ziker Park in Austin. Eric Church, Fun., Muse, D'Angelo and Queens of the Stone Age will take the stage with indie acts such as Joy Formidable, Grouplove, Silvesun Pickups, The National, Passion Pit and Phoenix also rounding out musical offerings. Veteran new wave rockers Depeche Mode and The Cure mark the groups' first performances on the ACL festival stage in 2013.

Tickets are on sale for $225 for each weekend, according to the ACL website.

Named for the PBS television concert showcase, the Austin City Limits festival has traditionally focused on Texas artists, but now spotlights music from a variety of backgrounds and genres. Popular television special artists such as Wilie Nelson, The Avett Brothers, The Raconteurs, Dixie Chicks, Elvis Costello and Jack Johnson have also jammed out during the yearly festival.

The festival's inaugural year kicked off in 2002 with acts such as Wilco, who will perform again this year. Last year's performers included Neil Young and Crazy Horse, Jack White, The Black Keys, Florence + the Machine, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers and The Roots.

Artists and local food vendors are also part of each weekend's festivities, highlighting the Austin music and arts culture. Travel and events packages are offered through the festival website. Approximately 75,000 fans take over the area each day of the yearly event.
