A photo taken on November 23, 2023 shows the logo of the ChatGPT application developed by US artificial intelligence research organization OpenAI on a smartphone screen (L) and the letters AI on a laptop screen in Frankfurt am Main, western Germany.

It was stated that between the years 2017 and 2022, the yearly average growth rate for AI hiring in the US was 1.2% versus a growth rate of 1.22% for the UK. The report also cites that the UK outpaces other large economies such as India with a 1.19% growth rate and Brazil, although only slightly, with a 1.21% growth rate.

The Highest Paying Jobs

The report also discussed the highest-paying job and the most in-demand job for the emerging industry. That job is Director of Data Science with an average of 200,263 pounds or $252,751.93 in United States dollars. AI Architects takes second place according to the report, with an average salary of $249,177.67. Looking over to the US the state of California has been propped up as the central hub of AI development with a 27% across the country with the state of New York taking the second place at 13%.

The author of the cited report, John Smith also shared some insight into the development with the following quote "Despite consistent expansion of the AI job market in America, the pace of growth lagged slightly behind other countries like Britain" Smith also shared a possible reason for this acceleration stating that "Rapid advances in AI technology have unlocked exciting new capabilities for businesses across many sectors. As companies look to capitalize on areas like computer vision and natural language processing, we can expect demand for skilled AI workers to keep accelerating." However, Smith also spoke on AI regulation stating "Policymakers still need to strike the right balance between innovation and ethics. Getting this right will help the AI job market continue thriving."

It is clear that the industry is going to continue to grow but regulation is going to also be necessary. For example, the gambling industry has recently begun adopting AI which could result in more rewarding experiences that could keep players coming back but, there was no discussion on how it could prevent or halt a person from becoming addicted.
