Huawei, the Chinese tech firm has finally brought in the most famous and loved digital assistant from into its Huawei Mate 9 flagship. The tech giant who made the promise of loading the best-featured Smartphone with Amazon Alexa at the Consumers Electronics Show in January has finally made it by collaborating with US tech giant 'Amazon.'
According to the Press release made, Huawei Mate 9 customers in the United States will be receiving the over-the-air (OTA) software update starting today. However, it is reported that the Alexa will land-up only for the US customers. Huawei's partnership with Amazon seems to be working well as the Zhendong Zhu, president, Huawei Device USA said that the new Huawei Alexa app is loaded with intelligent voice control features, has been added to the best-featured Huawei Mate 9 Smartphone. He also stated that the company is looking forward to collaborating with Amazon to develop more voice-activated mobile experiences.
"We're excited to bring Amazon Alexa to the Huawei Mate 9, helping customers easily perform everyday tasks while on the go - using just their voice," said Steve Rabuchin, vice president of Amazon Alexa.
The Huawei Alexa app will offer access to various features such as home automation, games/trivia, shopping, fitness/health, news, entertainment, and others. However, in order to use the Alexi on Mate 9, the user must first initiate the Huawei Alexa app and then move on asking a number of questions to the Alexi.
Huawei Mate 9 launched in November 2016 sports a 5.90-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. Under the hood, the device is powered by 1.8GHz octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The storage can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card.
The Huawei Mate 9 features a 20-megapixel primary camera on the rear and an 8-megapixel front selfie shooter. It is equipped with a 4000mAh non-removable battery and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat OS. The connectivity options that are included in the device are Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, 3G, and 4G. The device also features compass magnetometer, proximity sensor, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and gyroscope.
