LG launched its two new smartwatches with the newest smartwatch operating system-Android Wear 2.0. LG Watch Style and Watch Sport are the first two smartwatches to get the Android Wear 2.0 straight out of the box.

Any device entering the tech market should take-up on the existing rivals in the tech market to show the superiority over each other. So, LG Watch Style takes up a battle against South Korean tech giant's smartwatch - Samsung Gear S3.

 LG Watch Style

Design:  The LG Watch Style's round dial measures 42mm horizontally and 46mm vertically and the thickness of the dial is 10.8mm.The LG Watch Style is built by a stainless steel face with a plastic back and a Gorilla Glass 3 display. The LG Watch Style is launched in silver, titanium and rose gold colors together with leather or silicone interchangeable bands.

Display: LG Watch Style do not feature a pressure sensitive display as seen in the wearable of Apple, but has a P-OLED (Plastic AMOLED) display technology. The display has 360 X 360 resolution with 299ppi pixel density. Also, the LG Watch Style has a rotating crown/power button for navigation with a twist similar to Apple Watch Series 3.

Hardware: LG Watch Style is powered by a 1.1GHz Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor paired with 512MB of RAM. The smartwatch runs on the newly released Android Wear 2.0 OS. Google's newly released operating system gives an on-watch version of the Google Play Store which does not require any connected device.

Other Features: The best feature is the IP67 water resistance rating up to 1m for 30 minutes. The watch also supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, but no GPS support. LG watch has three type of sensors which include Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Ambient Light sensors. The watch is also included with an always-on display mode and 240mAh battery and is compatible with Android smartphones and iPhones.

Samsung Gear S3

Design: The Samsung Gear S3 is also a round dial smartwatch but bigger in size than the LG Watch Style. The round dial measures to 46mm horizontally, 49mm vertically with the thickness of 12.9mm. The Gear S3 is available in both streamlined Classic and rugged Frontier editions.

 The body of the watch is made up of stainless steel with a display made with Gorilla Glass SR+ material specially engineered for wearables. Samsung has made the watch available in many colors, one color option each in each edition- Silver color in Classic edition and gray color in Frontier edition. Also, it offers leather or silicone interchangeable bands.

Display: Samsung Gear S3 display is having 360 X 360 resolution but with lower pixel density accounting to 278ppi. When compared to LG Watch Style, the Gear S3 takes a more original approach by twisting the bezel itself to navigate through apps and content.

Hardware: Samsung Gear S3 is powered by Dual-core 1.0 GHz Exynos 7270 processor coupled with 768MB of RAM and 4GB of onboard storage. It runs on Tizen-based wearable platform 2.3.2 operating system. The Samsung Gear S3 has a cellular connectivity option which can accommodate Electronic SIM card, and the user can use the watch independently of the phone.

Other Features: Samsung Gear S3 has indeed a better feature of IP68 water resistance rating up to 1.5m for 30 minutes and supports Samsung Pay, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. The device also has Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Barometer, Ambient Light and Heart rate sensors, and an always-on display mode. It is powered by a 380mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery and is compatible with Android and iPhone smartphones

Price: The LG Watch Style and Samsung Gear S3 has a starting price tag of $249 and $350 respectively
