"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is all set to release in three weeks but it has also got fans talking about "Star Wars: Episode VIII" trailer. Many feel that the trailer of the movie could come attached with "Rogue One" but one theorist hints otherwise.

YouTuber Mike Zeroh says that the first trailer would not be out before the first quarter of 2017, reports Cinema Blend. This prediction seems late when one takes into consideration the fact that first teaser trailer for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" was released one year before the movie made it to the theater screens. This is why many fans are of the opinion that the "Episode VIII" trailer would be out in three weeks.

There is also another theory going around that the title of the movie would also be announced in the trailer and that it makes for a wonderful announcement idea. However, there is also the contention that "Rogue One" trailer did not come out until April this year and therefore, by those standards, a December release of "Star Wars Episode VIII" does seem early. Disney does not appear to be in a rush either and if the trailer comes out at this point, it might overshadow "Rogue One."

In related news, it is being said that Disney could attach the teaser to "Rogue One" after some time in January or February when the standalone movie would have collected a large part of its expected collections, claims Movie Web. It would also boost the collections further. Some might argue that in the digital age no one comes to the theaters to watch trailers and it is pretty reasonable.

However, there are two things in favor of Star Wars that make this strategy relevant. First and foremost, the buzz around "Star Wars Episode VIII" is really high. The Star Wars fans are super crazy about the next year release and since it is Disney, one can be hopeful that it would be able to pull off the trick. Last but not the least, it has worked before for "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back" and "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi."

"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" releases on 16 Dec 2016.
