Sony’s Xperia X Performance starts getting Android Nougat beta update

For people that opted for the beta, you'll soon get a Nougat beta update where the process requires users to sign in to opt for the beta-access.

Sony has now begun rolling out a beta update for those enrolled in the program. The Japanese firm has confirmed and the image source is accessible on GSMArena.

All updates, in general, are over-the-air(OTA) and this too would be done under the same methodology. Users are expected to see their phones for notifications frequently for the next 48 hours.

For the time-being, there's nothing much accessible about it. The manufacturer blog points out about how they'd been into developing it for some time.

There's some confirmation that Sony's bloatware have decreased trying to stay closer to the Vanilla choice of Google to stay in the competition. There likely be some new pictures available. The image source reads "Great news! You have been selected to participate in the Xperia Beta Program for your X Performance (model). As a member of the program, you will have the chance to try out a pre-release version of Android Nougat before anyone else."

Currently, it's the only Sony device that's under the beta development program by Sony, a similar approach that the Japanese firm has undertaken, to match that opted by Google themselves.

The testing regions, however, is limited and seem like the process is not being done world-wide for which the actual reasons are unknown. Currently only a few countries, all in the Euro zone. And it's also known that only a limited number of users in the beta program are eligible for it.

Since it's a beta update, there'll be the usual problems with issues in stability and performance. Since beta updates are meant for usage mostly for app developers who will in turn make changes to their app to comply with the latest OS, most users in general are also eligible to access it but however, any issues in the operating system must frequently be reported to Sony for them to fix them in the stable. This is the primary goal of the beta programs.

However, if you don't feel like doing it, it's best enjoying the experience before others which is an added bonus for users enrolled in the program.
