The Dallas Cowboys and New York Jets are two teams who are going in an opposite direction in the ongoing 2016 NFL season. The Cowboys holding a 6-1 record is currently at the top of the NFC division while the Jets are picking up slowing holding a 3-5 record and currently tied for the 12th-14th position in the AFC division.

But both teams have one thing in common; both are involved to numerous trade rumors for past few months. Both teams are recently involved in swapping their quarterbacks, Tony Romo and Ryan Fitzpatrick. And now, they banner a recent trade rumors that seems to be a hot topic to the league for the past few days.

According to ESPN, the Jets called the Cowboys just before the NFL trade deadline expires to ask if they are interested in making a deal involving defensive end Sheldon Richardson. The move of the Jets confirms that they are really shopping the 2014 Pro Bowler and not just rumors before.

However, the deal is implausible to happen as the Jets is demanding for a high future draft pick from the Cowboys which they can't give as per stated in the report. Aside from that, the Cowboys are reluctant to add Richardson due to his remaining contracts with the Jets. Richardson is set to make $8.069 million next year which the Cowboys might have a hard time to absorb but one report is saying that it can be worked out.

Fansided reported that in order to absorb Richardson and his contract, the Cowboys have two option: reconstruct Tony Romo's contract or just trade him. Even Romo have a health issue, he can attract many teams who have quarterback issues of their own and placing him on the trade market might do the trick as per stated in the report.

The report further states that another option for the Cowboys is to discharge linebacker Rolando McClain. Letting go McClain would clear $1.9 million on Cowboys salary cap and could be enough to take in Richardson. The addition of Richardson would somehow solidify their defensive line and put a little pressure on the offensive line of the opponents.

Will the Dallas Cowboys continue to chase New York Jets Sheldon Richardson even the trade deadline expire?
