The Oklahoma City Thunder is always billed as one of the top teams in the NBA whenever a new season starts. Known for their dynamic duo of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, they always gave a scare to any teams that they will face on the hard court. But that was before.

Now that Durant left the team during the offseason as a free agent and joined title contender Golden State Warriors, the expectation to the Thunder drop together with their rankings. But after five games this season, they currently tied on top at 4-1 with the Warriors and San Antonio Spurs. Their lone loss came from no less than the Warriors which led by Durant's 39 points (seven 3s).

Their loss to the Warriors gives them a clear picture that they badly need a replacement for Durant and it seems that they have one player in mind. According to iSportsTimes, the Thunder seems to be showing serious interest in acquiring Indiana Pacers superstar Paul George. The 3-time NBA All-Star is said to be the perfect answer for Durant's departure and could immediately make a big impact on the Thunder's future moving forward.

George is averaging 23.1 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game last season a little below Durant's average of 28.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 5.0 assists but it's more than enough to cover Durant's absence to the team. However, the Thunder must pull off a magic trick to acquire George from the Pacers why?

The report on this NBA trade says that George just recently announced on a radio station that he wants to stay with the Pacers for a long time with the goal of winning an MVP and challenge the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference.

As per News Every day, if ever the deal with Paul George did not prosper, the Thunder might be going to their next option and the option pertaining to is a trade deal with the Denver Nuggets involving Danilo Gallinari. But for now, Westbrook and the Thunder must be happy that even Durant is gone they are slightly adjusting and doing great as of the moment.
