Lenovo-owned Motorola has apparently planned a Nougat update for it's latest generation of their mid-range phone segment, the Moto G4 and the G4 plus.

According to local reports, Indian users are already into the process of receiving their OTA updates and can enjoy the latest version of Google's Nougat OS very soon. Since the OTA update is dispatched in batches, they're not prioritized in any order. Motorola will soon roll out the update worldwide.

A report from Neuro Gadget reveals that the soak test is being finalized in the Brazilian region. The same report also revealed about how it's important for Motorola to make sure the latest updates are being dispatched due to its worldwide popularity making it one of the most essential smartphone manufacturers out there.

Android Nougat includes a lot of additions like the new Vulkan API that Google detailed about in their keynote back in May. Alongside the API, there's a new compiler and the app notification system can immediate let users take action of the same.

A split-screen feature is now automatically a part of the operating system itself unlike before, where certain manufacturers were offering it as a plus point to buy their devices. Being sold around a price range of 180-200US$, it's one of the most frequently purchased phones in the Indian consumer markets.

The device saw its release most recently around may this year. One primary feature of the smartphone is an inclusion of Fingerprint sensor in the 'Plus' variant adding an additional security layer for accessing the phone.

It has quickly transformed from one of the best mid-range phone segment devices to one of the most popular smart phones in various markets worldwide. Currently, the Android Nougat 7.0 update is made available for the G4 and G4 Plus alongside their flagship phones.

However, there's a pending update for their previous devices like the Moto Droid series and the budget smart phones E series. Motorola are once again staying affirm with their quick update policy to all their devices in much lesser time than their competitors.

It's also notable that all Moto devices are free from bloatware except apart from the fact that about a couple of apps are exclusive to their devices. This in turn benefits users from receiving updates much earlier than others due to less time consumed in developing ROMs for the same.

The update process is a simple affair for all consumers who have no in-depth knowledge of taking full access of their smart phones. Updates are usually rolled out to all smart phones over the air (OTA) where the process automatically notifies the phone system that an update is pending. Then, it's just an install and enjoy process.

For advanced users who have sufficient insight on Android ecosystem about rooting their smart phones and side loading the process,  the files will be made available shortly once a stable release is confirmed.

However, the latter is not recommended for beginners without proper knowledge since they are at a greater risk of losing permanent access to their smart phones.
