The Minnesota Vikings have a good start in the current 2016 NFL season. Holding a 5-1 record tied for first place at NFC division with Dallas Cowboys, they are tagged as one of the team to beat this season. They are known to be a defensive team as shown in the stats.

The Vikings defense is holding their opponents to an average of just 14.0 points (ranked 2nd) and total yards allowed of 279.5 (ranked 1st) after Week 7 of the season. Good thing their defense is good which is exactly opposite of their offense averaging only 21.5 points (19th) and total yards of 299.2 (31st). And this is evident during their humiliating loss to the Philadelphia Eagles last Sunday where Vikings coach Mike Zimmer calls his offensive line 'soft'.

According to FOXSports.com, in order to address this shortcoming, the Vikings should make a deal to the Cleveland Browns to acquire the services of offensive tackle Joe Thomas. If ever the deal would proceed, reports are saying that the Browns are looking for a second-round pick in return for Thomas which the Vikings might give in.

The report also states that though Tomas had expressed his feelings that he wants to stay with the team, many say that it is better to go to another team and try to win a championship ring. Thomas hasn't won any championship with the Browns after 9 years with them despite being selected for 9 consecutive years in the Pro Bowl team.

On the separate report by TwinCities.com, although Thomas is already 31-years old he still the best NFL left tackle up unto this day. The only problem for the Vikings would be Thomas contract as he'll be receiving an average of $11.5 million per year until 2018 and more importantly a future draft pick as per stated in the report.

This could be a challenge for the Vikings as they don't have any cap space and don't have future picks to offer to the Browns. They've already traded their 2017 first-round pick and 2018 fourth-round pick to Philadelphia Eagles when they acquired QB Sam Bradford. But Vikings GM Rick Spielman is said to be finding a way to make a plausible deal to the Browns as the further stated in the report.

Will the Minnesota Vikings find a way to steal Joe Thomas to the Cleveland Browns?
