On Saturday night, Chicago Cubs beat the Los Angeles Dodgers with a score of 5-0. This is the Game 6 of the National League Championship Series held at Wrigley Field.

By capturing the National League Championship, the Cubs are now on their way to World Series. It's the first time since the Cubs manage to make it to the World Series in 1945.

That's right. 71 years of World Series drought for the Cubs. This is a record for the longest years without reaching the World Series in Major League Baseball. And the Cubs didn't win a World Series title since 1908. 108 years of not having a World Series title is the longest championship drought in all 4 major sports in North America, per Wikipedia.

The Cubs finished their regular season with a 103-58 win-loss record. This is the first time that the Cubs have won 100 games since 1910 and this assured them of a National League Central division title.

In the playoffs, they beat the San Francisco Giants with a score of 3-1. And just last week, they beat the Los Angeles Dodgers with a score of 4-2.

The Cubs will play Game 1 of the World Series against the Indians on Tuesday (October 25) in Cleveland, reports ABC 7 Chicago.

Fans' reactions, celebrations and more

After the Cubs won against the Dodgers in Game 6 and move to World Series for the first time in 71 years, fans celebrated for hours around the City.

During the Cubs' fans celebration hours, six arrests were made around Wrigley Field for reckless conduct, disorderly conduct, unlawful sale of tickets, resisting/obstructing, obstruction of traffic by non-motorist/storage of goods on public roads and obstruction of traffic, as per ABC 7 Chicago.

Some fans even climbed the pole of a police surveillance camera. But the majority of celebrations around Chicago were peaceful.

Many fans are just taking pictures around the stadium with their friends. Others just went to sporting goods stores to purchase World Series items.

A Cubs-loving couple, Sean and Laura Hileman their wedding early Saturday in front of Wrigley Field, as per ABC 7 Chicago.

The Chicago Cubs and its fans could enjoy this very special moment. They might celebrate it for one more day. But the real celebration will begin if they will win the World Series.

The drought of not reaching the World Series has ended. It took the Cubs 71 years. Now that they are finally at the World Series, will they end another drought of not having a World Series title? Will the World Series drought stops at 108 years or will it last for a bit longer?
