California Federal Court judge Michael Fitzgerald denies request for dismissal in Derrick Rose's case. The rape trial continues, and will the judge find Derrick Rose guilty?

The judge in Derrick Rose's civil rape case denied motion by Rose's attorney for a dismissal on Wednesday Oct. 12, according to report by New York Times. The trial then resumed with a testimony from two co-defendants - Rose's childhood friends, who testified that the sex was consensual.

Rose was accused of gang-raping his ex-girlfiriend after breaking into her Los Angeles house with his friends in 2013. She claimed that Rose brought his friends Allen and Hampton to break into her apartment in South California, then drugged and raped her. She filed a petition suing Rose, Allen and Hampton for $21 million.

Previously the woman, 30, testified in the trial that she passed out in her bed. When she awoke, she found Rose, Allen and Hampton forcing themselves in her. Rose denied the allegation and saying the sex was consensual, and Allen and Hampton's testimonies also corroborated Rose's testimony, saying she was fully sober during sex.

The case has given a tough time for New York Knicks, as Rose is the team's star point guard. Knicks had to begin their preseason game without Rose. In their first preseason game, although Rose played off-the bench, but Knicks lost 130-103 to Houston Rockets. The Knicks regained their composure in the next two games by winning against Brooklyn Nets and Washington Wizards.

Since the trial case is still going on, New York Knicks decided to send a coach for Derrick Rose to LA, as reported by New York Post.. Head coach Jeff Hornacek said they would try to update him regarding the gameplay strategy they are practicing.

"We're right now trying to think of if we should send somebody out there with him,'' Hornacek said Thursday. The Knicks will held their fourth preseason game hosting Boston Celtics in Madison Square Garden on Oct. 15.
