Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadive confirmed that former head coach George Karl tried to trade DeMarcus Cousins. Karl and Cousins was known for not get along well during his tenure as coach, but Ranadive sees those things are past.

In an interview with USA Today, Ranadive said: "George had tried to trade Cousins that whole summer, and there was not a lot of love between those two, and so there was tension there. So that was not a new thing."

Ranadive also said that he believes in the general manager Vlade Divac and the new head coach Dave Joerger. He sees his team as a team of young men who is hungry to win the game.

Karl coached Sacramento Kings for 2015-16 season. Although he is known as one of the best coach in the history of NBA, but he could not manage Cousins' unpredictability and temperament.

Initially, Kings hired the former "Coach of the Year" for 4-year contract, but after a disappointing 2015-16 season, they fired him. They ended the regular season with 33-49, ranked 10th in the Western Conference.

Rudy Gay blamed the team winning attitude for the continous failure of the team. But looking at the team that has nine different coaches since 2006, that explains the reason of their bad seasons. It is simply shows that no coach is able to implement their system into the team with Cousins who is known to be a rebellious player.

Cousins is one of the top centers in NBA and along with his tandem Rudy Gay created a strong low-post play in Sacramento Kings. Now, as the new head coach Joerger is appointed, the question is whether he will be able to break Cousins' bad habit as reported by Sporting News
