Microsoft confirmed that it will hold its launch event in New York City on October 26 at 10 AM EDT, according to Microsoft's website.

The event is not expected to be hardware-heavy just like the company's 2015 event. Rather, it will be a show for a number of new and impressive products. Windows 10, the Surface Desktop and various Surface Accessories are some of the products set to take the stage in the event.

According to Engadget, the event will take place in New York City. While various updates and new Surface products are expected to be seen, the night's major attraction would be the Windows 10 reveal. As such, it can be assumed that Microsoft will focus on its software product.

The latest features and updates to operating system will be put under light. Ars Technica says that Microsoft is likely to unveil the Hololens and the Xbox, in addition to multiple other OEM products. Xbox will be supporting 4K gaming and will come with six teraflops of power. It will also support gaming in virtual reality, as reported by the International Business Times.

In the event held last year, Microsoft focused on the Surface Book, Surface Pro 4, Lumia 950 series, and the Microsoft Band 2.

According to the Indian Express, one thing is sure - Microsoft won't be launching a new fitness band as it did not have a good response. There is also less scope for a Surface-branded smartphone

The launch of Surface Desktop will be most awaited. Surface Desktop is rumoured to have a sleep and modern design in three variants. It will be having a 21-inch display with full HD 4k resolution.

In the coming event, various accessories are also expected to be unveiled with the Surface Desktop. These accessories could be a Bluetooth keyboard with chiclet keys and a brand-new Surface Mouse.
