Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is one of the most anticipated devices that was previously rumored to be launched by the end of the year. However, Windows 10 update called Redstone 2 is expected to push its release even further.

Earlier it was rumored that Microsoft Surface Pro 5 may launch along with Microsoft Surface Phone and Microsoft Surface All-in-One (AIO) desktop in October 2016. However, the device will come with Microsoft's fourth major update to Windows 10, Redstone 2.

Microsoft's Redstone 2 release has been delayed to 2017, according to iDigital Times. This, in turn, would impact Microsoft Surface Pro 5 release date. The update would support upcoming generation of Windows 10-based devices released by Microsoft and this is the primary reason why fans would not get to see Microsoft Surface Pro 5 hitting the market shelves any time soon.

As far as Microsoft Surface Pro 5 specs are concerned, the device would possess seventh generation Intel's Kaby Lake Processor. As per Intel's General Manager, Navin Shenoy, the latest processor would release later in 2016, which is another reason behind Microsoft Surface Pro 5's delayed release date.

The device is further expected to come in varying screen sizes. The 27-inch, 24-inch and 21-inch variants would come with 4K high resolution display, according to GamenGuide. Gamers are expected to especially wait for this device because of its Ultra HD display.

The upcoming device is also rumored to possess a USB type-C port. This will help transfer data faster and in more efficient way. Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is also rumored to come with a Surface pen, which can wirelessly because of its magnetic attachment to the battery.

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 release date has not been officially announced yet. However, the fans are hopeful that Microsoft would soon make a confirmation about the final release date.
