Marshall Mathers, popularly known as Eminem, now ranks 9th on Forbes' hip hop's cash kings of the decade list. The reason for this is his dwindling income and the lack of a new album.

The rapper got famous in the early days of his career and is now considered as among the gods of hip-hop. However, his current earnings is short of fitting for such a revered status.

Eminem, according to the International Business Times, earned only US$11 million, which is one of the major reasons to force him out of Forbes top 10 hip hop artists of 2016. In contrast to that, Eminem amassed US$31 million in earnings in 2015.

According to the latest rankings stated on the Forbes official website, Eminem is now in 18th place. The report further tells that during the covered time period, Eminem performed in only three shows, which could also be a reason for his decline in ranking.

Forbes' report said, "He only played three shows during our scoring period, but made them count: they were all at South American iterations of the Lollapalooza music festival in front of tens of thousands of fans."

Eminem debuted on the 2011 edition of Forbes' Celebrity 100 list in 2011, where he ranked 71st among the world's highest paid celebrities. He came down to 82nd place in 2015, and he then dropped out of the list in 2016.

Eminem did not just in both highly-paid celebrity and rapper rankings, as he also failed to retain his Guinness World Record title for the most words in a hit single with his 2013 single "Rap God," as theInternational Business Times reported.

There are several rumours regarding Eminem's new album but no official news has been made on his new album. Though some reports suggest that his new album, "Root," will be released soon, the rapper himself has yet to make an official announcement.
