Chinese firm Xiaomi have now announced a smart TV system Mi Box which can run 4K resolution in its set-top box. Along with HDR video support and Bluetooth and voice-remote included, let's see as to how the new device fares along with others in the competition.

The hardware has been a recipient of both the Good Design Award and Reddot Design Award. The hardware is based on Android TV with version 6.0 running from the box. It's reportedly easy to use, which also supports voice controls along with Google Cast technology, allowing users to stream all their personal photos, videos, and office data to the smart TV.

Along with that, users can also watch all their favorite shows, effectively using the device as just a regular TV. Although of course, the difference is that the device is purely digital. .

Just like other competitors in the market, the Mi Box supports Vevo music, Netflix, MLB TV, Hulu, Plex, Ted and pretty much every premium service in the form of tune-in radio, Youtube, NBA, etc. However, it's also notable that you can use your iOS devices to cast media using the Mi Box. The Box also has a remote that looks fairly similar to the Apple TV remote.

Users can watch HDR content with the help of Mi Box provided it's fitted to an HDR-enabled TV with HDR-quality video content. Mi Box uses HDMI 2.0 cable, which is faster compared to older generation technologies. It provides speeds up to 20GBPs, which significantly results in improved picture and sound quality thanks to a faster video signal transmission. 

The 4K resolution also results in 60 frames per second. The Mi Box has a quad-core CPU along with a multi-core GPU powered by a 2GB DDR3 RAM along with Bluetooth and game support. Mi also provides a Mi game controller which is dual-motor vibration 3-axis sensor. Xiaomi claims that the battery on the Mi Controller lasts a whole year.
