For photo trackers, camera lovers and technology enthusiasts, the excitement continues. GoPro comes out on a high note.

GoPro introduces a couple of its new flagship devices, the Hero 5 Black and the Hero 5 Session. What makes both appealing is the fact that the items are handy and easy to use.

In terms of design, the Black possesses a larger design with a micro HDMI port and a removable battery.  The Session, on the other hand, is equipped with a smaller camera and displays a monochrome setting. Notably, both have a built-in waterproof casing which can withstand water pressure up to ten meters without a separate housing.

However, the Black, as a new generation product, has extra features to boot. It has a touchscreen in the back for better control. The display can also be utilized as a small monitor and the system allows manageability related to video and photo-shooting settings.

On camera capability, both variants of the Hero 5 support 4K video recording at 30 (fps). The Black produces 12 megapixel stills while the Session can do ten. These devices are able to capture wide-angle videos and photos. Common features that the GoPro brands share are the electronic stabilization when capturing video, the new linear view setting and the simple one-button control system.

Initially, the Hero 5 variants have a built-in voice control for the English, German, French, Italian, Spanish and Chinese languages. Considering that this is only the launching period, it is expected that more dialects will be incorporated into the GoPro system later. With this capability, the cameras will follow voice commands.

With regards to GPS, the Hero 5 Black gets the edge due to its automatic location tracking. With three microphones plus an active noise cancellation capability, it can as well record stereo audio.

Both the Black and the Session present a new cloud connection specification. With the camera charging, the auto-uploading footage connects to the GoPro+ account via WiFi. In addition, a new mobile app in the system allows auto-editing to commence. With a built-in micro SD card space, files from the camera can be easily forwarded to the smartphone.

Moreover, the Hero 5 variants are compatible with GoPro mounts including the new Karma drone.

The Black and the Session is expected to be in the market by October.
