Everyone was expecting Apple to launch a new iPad model in its September event.

However, we were all left hanging as the Cupertino Company only unveiled the expected iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and Apple Watch Series 2.

This leads Apple fans to believe that the company may be cooking something new for the iPad line.

According to Analyst Ming Chi-Kuo, this is already expected as Apple is now focusing on the iPad Pro line. And since, iPad Pro 9.7 was just released earlier this year, it is illogical for Apple to launch another one in 2016.

First photos of an alleged iPad Pro 2 also surfaced in China on July. The photos were sent to Apple Insider anonymously and are said to belong to a Chinese supplier.

The unidentified informant also disclosed that the production for the new iPad Pro will begin on September.

Tech Radar reports that Apple's iPad Pro 2 will be taking some designs from the iPhone 7.

iPad Pro 2 is expected to be slimmer, lighter and faster. It is expected to scroll, zoom and pan smoother and faster.

The new iPad Pro will also be water and dust resistant as the new iPhone 7. Based on the new features mentioned, it will not be a surprise if the new iPad Pro 2 will have a missing 3.5 mm headphone port.

The iPad Pro 2 is also said to have better support for the Apple Pencil. This is since the latter only currently supports very limited apps.

Apple Pencil aims to help professionals in both writing and drawing but Apple wants its pencil to also be able to support messaging, email and even simple browsing.

The new iPad Pro may also be available in Rose Gold and Jet Black with 12 MP True Tone Flash rear camera, 5 MP front camera and 4K video recording.

iPad Pro 2 will also be available in three variants, 12.9 inch, 10.5 inch and 9.7 inch. It is also said that the first variant, which is the most affordable, will run on A9X chipset.  While the last two variants that will cater to business and education sectors, will run on A10X.
