iPad Pro 2, although considered as one of the highly-anticipated Apple device, was never mentioned during the tech giant's Sept. 7 event. However, a lot of rumors have circulated lately claiming that it will be released in the first quarter next year.

It can be remembered that a lot of gadget enthusiasts are expecting that the iPad Pro 2 will be announced at Apple's Sept. 7 event. Unfortunately the tech giant focused all its efforts on the iPhone 7 and Apple Watch 2. All throughout the event, Apple did not provide any hint about its iPad line.

Due to such events, many Apple enthusiasts were disappointed.

Fortunately their hopes were revived when a Science World Report article revealed that the Cupertino-based company will most likely launch the device either later this year or on the first quarter or in the month of March next year was published.

The first quarter of 2017 rumored release also gained a backing from the statement provided by Ming Chi-Kuo, a well-known tech analyst. MacRumors quoted Chi-Kuo saying, "If the iPad comes in a larger size, such as a 10.5" model, we believe it will be helpful to bid for tenders within the commercial and education markets. As a result, we expect Apple to launch a 10.5" iPad Pro in 2017."

Thus, many gadget enthusiasts are now convinced that the iPad Pro 2 will be launched March next year.

In terms of specs, an HNGN report shared a rumor claiming that the iPad Pro 2 will be available in 12.9-inch, 10.5-inch, and the 9.7-inch variants. The rumors also hinted that each of these will come with different processing chips with the 12.9-inch and 10.-5-inch variants getting the A10X processing chip while the midrange 9.7-inch variant will have the A9X chipset.

In addition to that, iPad Pro 2 is also expected come with features similar to that of the iPhone 7. Thus, it is safe to assume that the device will possibly be thinner, lighter and water resistant.
