Fans are hopeful that Gendry would return in Game of Thrones Season 7 and play an important role. Speculations are spreading around like wildfire, hinting that Gendry is, in fact, the true King of Westeros.

Youtube channel suggested that Gendry has a strong claim in the Iron Thrown, showing evidences that he, bastard as he may be, a Targaryen.

"The key is to look at the past since George RR Martin tends to write his book in cycles that repeat an established history," the Youtuber said, further teasing that fans might believe that Gendry cannot sit the Iron Throne since he's a bastard and technically, not a true Baratheon.

Gendry is the last surviving bastard of King Robert Baratheon. However, contrary to the belief that he cannot be a Prince or a King since he has no birthright, if fans would look back far enough to Baratheon's family tree, fans would see that Gendry is a Targaryen seed.

The channel further speculated that the very first Baratheon, Orys Baratheon, was a bastard and a half-brother of Aegon the Conqueror. He served Aegon I Targaryen as Hand of the King and through the valor he showed in conquering the Last Storm King, was awarded the House Baratheon. Due to this fact, the channel hinted that, "Wouldn't it be fitting to crown the last Baratheon bastard alive once again to re-establish his house once more?"

Being a son of Robert, Gendry shares the Targaryen blood. As such, Gendry would be the third person in Game of Thrones with a bloodline leading to the Targaryen Kings beside Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow.

As per the report of Game N Guide, there are speculations that Gendry will come back in Game of Thrones Season 7 to play as a central hero in the series. Fans believe that Gendry is more than a minor character.

Whether Gendry will return or not in Game of Thrones Season 7 is still up in the air. When a fan, however, asked Martin about Gendry's importance in the story, as Inquistr reported, the author only answered, "Interesting question."

Do you think this theory is plausible? This news is yet to be confirmed in Game of Thrones Season 7 scheduled for release in summer 2017. Stay tuned for more updates!
