Get your grain of salt ready as it was reported that there will be a prequel of the 2015 critically-acclaimed "Mad Max: Fury Road." The report even said that the pre-production has already started and filming will begin before this year ends.

The Mad Max franchise was not really certain at first. Although it received critical success, the 2015 action movie was not quite a hit in the cinemas with a box office of just over $378 million against a $150 million budget.

However, Australia's The Herald Sun, has announced that a prequel is already on the way.

"The prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road starring TOM HARDY will be filmed in and around Broken Hill.. Pre-production is gearing up on the multi-million-dollar action-packed Warner Bros franchise, with NSW's Broken Hill Studios Miller's first choice for shooting, which could start as soon as later this year. Mad Max 4 was plagued by delays when extended rain turned the desert green and the uber director had to move location to Namibia."

The announcement also include George Miller's return to direct the film and the plot will reportedly focus on Charlize Theron's character, Furiosa.

But then again, we are all in doubt. According to a report, Miller has previously stated that before he comes back to the world of Mad Max, he'd like to direct a smaller-scale film first. He had also reportedly indicated before that Furiosa may not return, and that the majority of characters in "Mad Max: Fury Road" has not crossed paths before which makes the viewers skeptical of a prequel angle.

But maybe Miller changed his mind and he's on the way of creating another Mad Max story that can complement the previous film. Nothing is official yet, but one thing is sure --  viewers would really like another of the action film soon.
