Following NBC's announcement that Grimm Season 6 will be the final installment of the series, die hard fans started several online petitions for the renewal of the series. It is still a question however whether the TV network will consider continuing the show or not.

Aside from the announcement that Grimm Season 6 will be the final season which will start airing on January 6,2107, NBC also cut down the number of episodes from the usual 22 episodes to 13 episodes.

To voice out the disappointments of the fans over this decision, the popular TV series' huge fanbase started several online petitions. A fan from Wales, UK opted to start an online petition to have Netflix take over for Grimm Season 7. The petition has garnered thousands of supporters of more than 6,000 people. Herein, it was pointed out that the Grimm series cannot end just yet because "there is so much more potential and that it would be a wasted opportunity."

Another petition by fans is a request for TNT to pick up the show. The petition emphasized that "Grimm is the best show in the universe. It has hundreds of millions of fans all around the world. Grimm deserves at least 10 seasons."

Movie News Guide noted, however, that it would be unlikely for TNT to take over Grimm Season 7 considering that there are not many shows that have found another network for revival.

Likewise, NBC is tight-lipped about the continuation of the show. As per the report of International Business Times, a recent revelation by the network's Entertainment Chairman Rober Greenblatt that Grimm is a big international success for the company fueled more speculations that NBC might be planning a different direction for the series. Instead of Grimm Season 7, the fans might possibly see a spin-off.
