Fans of Arizona Robbins would be happy to know that "Grey's Anatomy," Season 13 is going to play a romantic tune for their favorite character. A new love interest is in the offing for the pediatric surgeon but Jo is not going to have a smooth run as her turbulent past will resurface in the next season, shedding light on the issue of "domestic violence" as a consequence.

Shonda Rhimes, the creator of the medical drama series, recently revealed that Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) will be getting a love interest in "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13, International Business Times reported. Rhimes also disclosed that it was initially planned to give Arizona a love interest in Season 12 but it could not materialize. But, Season 13 will have that angle.

Expressing excitement at the prospect of introducing a love angle, the creator said that it thrills her to get to tell a story with Arizona that lets her be who she is and to see how the relationships that she has had have affected her. Though Rhimes did not reveal anything about the love interest, she emphasized that it would not be forced as she wants to do it organically and have fun too. She categorically stated that she wants the audience to be rooting for it.

Meanwhile, "Grey's Anatomy," Season 13 will shed light on Jo's (Camilla Luddington) backstory, claims Entertainment Weekly. Rhimes told the magazine that it felt like Season 13 was the right time to tell Jo's story, especially in the context of Alex. This is because Alex is highly defined by who he used to and who he is struggling to become and the same rings true for Jo too.

"Grey's Anatomy," Season 13 will reveal that Jo is actually running away from her abusive husband and he might even make an appearance as well. It will also come to light that her actual name is not Jo. The coming season will have a fair share of Jo and Alex drama because she has already turned down his proposal and now it is going to be difficult for her to move on and erase him completely from her life.
