Disney's lack of official announcement regarding "Girl Meets World" has cast rumors on the series' imminent cancellation. The production team at Michael Jacobs Production remains mum on the issue as well, amid an ongoing social media feud between cast members.

The series is a spin-off of the "Boy Meets World" series, a long running sitcom in ABC for seven years that ended in 2000. Disney Channel debuted its sequel as "Girl Meets World," in 2014. However after two years in Disney Channel, word began to circulate concerning the end of the series, as per Movie News Guide.

Rumors about the series' cancellation further amplified after a feud between its cast members in social media occurred, as reported by M Magazine. The feud happened in Instagram, between Rowan Blanchard who plays Riley and Uriah Shelton, who plays her uncle Josh in the series.

Shelton took to Instagram to express his opinion that society doesn't need feminism. Blanchard blasted Shelton as reported by Hall of Fame.  Furthermore, when a fan asked her who among the cast members has the kind-of-sort-of-drag, she clearly hinted it was Shelton. She also said that things Shelton said are not worth her precious time.

Fans adore Shelton for her honesty and frankness on her views regarding many issues. But as she is still young actress, her harsh comment on Instagram will definitely affect her acting performance in "Girl Meets World" as Riley with uncle Josh.

The sitcom "Girl Meets World" continues the story of Corey Matthews (Ben Savage) from "Boy Meets World," who is now an adult with his wife Topanga (Danielle Fishel) and their daughter Riley (Blanchard). The series follows on Riley's life, her best friend Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) and their daily life.

"Girl Meets World" started its third season on June 3 this year. It remains unclear how the series will continue after the rumor and social media feud between its cast members. "Girl Meets World" airs every Friday on Disney Channel at 8:30 p.m. ET.
