Thriller horror television series "Supernatural" will start its new season in October. The show has been on air for a decade, and this is the last season for Sam and Dean to end their adventure. This time they meet Lucifer and have a face-off.

This season continues the previous one as Sam is abducted by the Men of Letters who will punish him for his action that made Lucifer escape. Meanwhile, Crowley the demon is seen face to face with Lucifer in the trailer as reported by Hall of Fame Magazine.

In the new season, many of the regular cast returned - Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Katie Cassidy, Lauren Cohan, Misha Collins and Mark Sheppard. This season also casted veteran singer Rick Springfield as Lucifer, according to Variety.

In "Supernatural" Season 12, Sam (Padalecki) and Dean (Ackles) will reunite with their mother Mary (Samantha Smith). At the same time, they also must deal with the escape of Lucifer and face the threat from the Men of Letters. Two demons Crowley (Sheppard) and Ruby (Cassidy) returns and they find out the Lucifer's plan to wipe out the entire demon after killing all human being.

The series will also introduce new interesting character, Alicia, another hunter that works with her brother Mark. Actress Kara Royster plays the role of Alicia, according to Entertainment Weekly.

"Supernatural" is one of the longest supernatural drama series aired in CW network. Since its first airing in Sept. 2006, the Warner Bros. Television production series garnered many devoted and die-hard fans.

The series came after writer Eric Kripke developed the concept for 10 years. He originally designed it to be a movie, but later he switched it to be a television series. Kripke was fascinated about American urban legend, where he based the story.

This season will be the last season of the series with 23 episodes. "Supernatural" Season 12 is slated to air on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 9 pm ET on CW.
