Demi Lovato has made it clear that next year she plans to focus on her music career, including her international "Neon Lights Tour," but 2014 may be when her long-time boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama pops the big question.

"They have talked about marriage, and they are expecting to get married someday," a source close 21-year-old Lovato told HollywoodLife. In fact, the 33-year-old actor has reportedly already picked out the engagement ring, "a really classic, beautiful ring," according to an employee at Tiffany & Co. who recently spoke to HollywoodLife.

"Demi is going to be a happy girl when she gets it. He didn't say what it was for but he was really excited and happy - he seemed like any other guy getting ready to pop the question," the employee revealed to the gossip site.

Things may prove a bit tricky, however, as Lovato has kept her relationship with Valderrama very private for years, having chosen remain mum on the subject of whether the two are even together or not, as she's said, some things in her life have to "stay sacred," since the singer has been exceedingly open and honest with her fans about so much in her life already, including her struggles with mental illness, drugs & alcohol and self-harm.

"They make their relationship such a private thing that knowing Wilmer this isn't the wedding ring," the HollywoodLife source added. "She wants 2014 to be about her music and music only. She would say 'Yes' if Wilmer asked her, but she is in no way ready to be fully married. She caught the bouquet at her costar [Tiffany Thornton's] wedding a few years ago that she attended with Wilmer, and they both like the motto, 'Everything happens for a reason,' so it would be timely wouldn't it?"
