Have you ever been walking down the street and seen something amazing and wanted to take a mental picture and not ruin the moment by rummaging through your purse or pocket for your smartphone? Now thanks to a new feature coming to the Google Glass wearable tech accessory, you can do that with a simple wink.

Google Glass already has voice-activated snaps running on its device, which has been in beta testing for more than a year. Now, the California-based company says users will be able to take a picture simply by winking and the device will be able to pick up on that movement queue and snap a quick photo.

While taking pictures is the wink's only use at the moment, Google says the technology to pick up a wink and write commands for it is something it is excited to bring into other aspects of the technology.

"Imagine a day where you're riding in the back of a cab and you just wink at the meter to pay," the company wrote in an official blog post.

While the technology's future excites some, many others are concerned with the lack of privacy widespread use of this device will have on the world. Just last month a man was thrown out of a bar in Seattle for wearing his Glass. Many strip clubs and other adult performance venues have preemptively banned the technology for fear of secret filming. Now any wink could be the undoing of someone's private life if he or she is in the wrong company of a Glass user.

Currently the technology is only available to a select thousand people in Google's "Explorer" program. These beta testers are responsible for giving the company data on real-world encounters with the device and showing how best to use it and what direction the company's app developers should be going in.
