"X-Men: Apocalypse" was billed by director Bryan Singer as an introduction to the younger versions of familiar mutants you've seen over the years as well as the close of the "X-Men: First Class" trilogy. It also is the first time fans will get to see a live-action version of Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac), who is the most iconic villain in the "X-Men" universe.

Yet despite the film's jubilant embrace of these new names and faces, it appears as if Singer couldn't help but include everyone's favorite ornery mutant. And we're definitely not complaining.

20th Century Fox unveiled the final full trailer for next month's "X-Men: Apocalypse" and guess who makes a brief appearance? That's right, it's none other than the adamantium man himself, Wolverine. Check out the trailer below.

For months, Singer and all those involved with "Apocalypse" have been saying that Hugh Jackman's clawed mutant would not be involved with the upcoming blockbuster. Obviously, that was all just a smokescreen as we get a clear glimpse of his shining claws in this new footage. How big his role in the film and the specific details of it are unknown at this time. But even just a brief cameo would be enough to delight fans.

Jackman's Wolverine was last seen in 2014's "X-Men: Days of Future Past" being pulled out of the Potomac River by Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique disguised as the villainous William Stryker (Josh Helman). So what script machinations will return him to the X-Men? Your guess is as good as ours at this point.

Jackman previously announced that the currently untitled third Wolverine movie will be the final time he lends his services to the "X-Men" franchise. He first took on the role in 2000's "X-Men" and has since outlived two different Supermans, two different Batmans, three different Hulks and three separate Spider-Mans.

Following the runaway success of Ryan Reynolds' "Deadpool," Fox has decided to go with an R-rated send-off that is largely expected to follow the iconic comic book story "Old Man Logan."

"X-Men: Apocalypse" will arrive May 27. The third Wolverine stand-alone film is schedule to hit theaters in 2017.
