The magical world that J.K. Rowling created almost 20 years ago will expand this November with the "Harry Potter" spinoff film "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them."

Sunday night, during the MTV Movie Awards, "Fantastic Beasts" star and Academy Award-winning actor Eddie Redmayne took the stage to present an all-new trailer for the flick, which takes place during the 1920s in New York City. The screenplay, written by Rowling herself, follows the story of Newt Scamander (Redmayne) as he ventures to America with a magical briefcase that is full of magical creatures.

"Myself and the rest of the cast had such an astounding time getting to leap back into the world of J.K. Rowling's imagination," Redmayne said before the new trailer aired. "And I'm properly excited to share with you tonight just a wee glimpse of what's in store this November."

The trailer starts with a voice-over from Colin Farrell's character Percival Graves as the familiar "Harry Potter" theme plays in the background. The clip makes a strong connection between the world of "Fantastic Beasts" and "Harry Potter" with the mention of Albus Dumbledore, who was simply a professor at Hogwarts during the time, not the headmaster.

"You're an interesting man, Mr. Scamander," whispers Farrell's Graves. "Just like your suitcase, I think there's much more to you than meets the eye. Kicked out of Hogwarts for endangering human life with a beast, yet one of your teachers argued strongly against your expulsion."

"I wonder, what makes Albus Dumbledore so fond of you, Mr. Scamander?" Graves asked Scamander.

In the new trailer, not only do fans get a first glimpse at some of the beasts that Scamander is so fond of, but they also get a better look at the characters surrounding Scamander, including the No-Maj (the American term for Muggle) Jacob played by Dan Fogler and sisters Tina and Queenie played by Katherine Waterston and Alison Sudol. The film also stars Ezra Miller, Jon Voight, Ron Perlman and Samantha Morton.

In addition to Rowling serving as screenwriter for the film, she also acts as a producer along with David Heyman (who produced all eight "Harry Potter" films), Steve Kloves (who wrote seven "Harry Potter" movies) and director David Yates (who directed the final four "Harry Potter" flicks).

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" hits theaters Nov. 18. Check out the new trailer below:
