The Aussie ladies thrashed Sri Lanka by nine wickets in a Group A match at Delhi's Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium on Thursday. The Southern Stars chased down the modest target of 123 with 14 balls to spare. Skipper Meg Lanning (56) and Elyse Villani (53) shared an unbeaten 98-run partnership to guide their side to a comfortable win.

"Every game we play now is like a World Cup final, so we can't afford to drop the ball. I just gave myself a little bit more time. Every member of the batting unit was very disappointed with those starts in the last two games. Not much was said to be honest because I think it was pretty obvious that it was well below par. It was about backing ourselves, playing with freedom," player of the match Elyse Villani said.

The Ireland women's cricket team, which placed at the bottom of Group A, remained winless in WT20 so far. They lost their third match of the tournament against South Africa on Tuesday. The Proteas ladies first made 157 in 20-overs and then restricted Ireland to 89 for nine in 20-overs. Leg spinner Sune Luus's (five wickets for eight runs) extraordinary performance helped South Africa to register a massive 67-run victory over struggling Ireland.
