The second season of the highly-anticipated anime, "Attack on Titan," has been definitively delayed, as series director, Tetsuro Araki and manga creator, Hajime Isayama has decided to forego production of the second season unless the manga is four story arcs ahead.

With only two full arcs complete in the manga since the first season ended, fans of the anime action-thriller are set to do a lot more waiting than expected. Then again, with the director and the creator's decision, fans could at least rest assured that the next season would be comparable in quality and depth as the critically-acclaimed first season.

Considering that the second season of "Attack on Titan" is set to follow the events of the manga very closely, there is a very likely chance that the second season will open with a bang.

In fact, with the events of the manga in mind, the first arc of the second season might very well be the most intense arc of the "Attack on Titan" anime so far. After the brutal battle between Eren's Rogue Titan and Annie's Female Titan within Wall Sina, the next arc is the aptly named "Clash of Titans" story.

The Clash of Titans arc is arguably one of - if not the most - intense arc that the manga has so far featured. Covering Chapter 38 to Chapter 50, the Clash of Titans arc would explore the real identities of the Armored Titan and the Colossal Titan, as well as the introduction of the manga's most powerful antagonist so far, the Beast Titan.

The arc is not just about revelations, however, as the Clash of Titans arc is also home to some of the most memorable battles in the manga to date. Among these include battles featuring the members of the 104th Squad, such as Sasha, who battles a titan with a bow and arrow without her 3-D Maneuver Gear, and Reiner, who literally fights a 3-meter class titan with his bare hands.

Perhaps the most high-stakes battle of the arc itself involves the series' protagonist, Eren Jaeger, whose titan form is set to go into an all-out, one-on-one battle with the Armored Titan. In the manga, the battle between the two massive titans was a spectacle to read. Animated, the battle would surely be one that would surpass the intensity of the Rouge and Female Titan's battle in the Forest of Giant Trees during the first season.

Finally, the Clash of Titans arc ends with the same energy as its beginning, too. During the final chapters of the manga, Eren is set to face the same titan who killed his mother, and he discovers a power that might very well turn the tide of the war between humans and titans forever.
