The title favorite India will take on Bangladesh in their third Super10 Group 2 match of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Twenty20 World Cup 2016 on Wednesday at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.

The hosts, who recently defeated Bangladesh in the Asia Cup final, are looking to inch closer to a semi-final spot when it takes on the Tigers.

The hosts have produced a mixed performace in the world Twenty20 so far. It registered a comeback win against arch-rival Pakistan on Saturday after losing the tournament's opening match against New Zealand. Virat Kohli (55 not out) produced another match-winner against Pakistan at Kolkata's Eden Gardens. He guided India to chase down a modest target of 119 with six wickets in hand.

"If you see we have been in this position many times. We know how to turn it around. To have a very bad game or a very bad series and to come back strong, it's the kind of character the boys have. And I feel it's very important to back them and have confidence in them that they will bounce back and will come back strong," Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni said after winning the crucial match against Pakistan on Saturday.

Bangladesh, which suffered a major setback last week as the International Cricket Council (ICC) banned pacer Taskin Ahmed and left-arm spinner Arafat Sunny from bowling in international cricket due to illegal actions, remained at the bottom of the Super10 Group 1 with two consecutive defeats. The Tigers first lost their opening match against Pakistan last week and then was defeated by Australia on Monday. Aussie opener Usman Khwaja (58) and spin bowler Adam Zampa (3/23) guided their side to the three-wicket win against the Tigers.
