Paxton Lynch came into this offseason feeling pretty good about where he would be drafted, however, as time went on, that became more and more ambiguous. Now it is unclear just what NFL team will take Lynch in the first round except for the teams that are in desperate need of a quarterback.

The Cleveland Browns already have their choice between Carson Wentz and Jared Goff, and the San Francisco 49ers should get the quarterback Cleveland doesn't select. This leaves the New York Jets at No. 20 (if they don't get a deal done with Ryan Fitzpatrick - or even if they do), the Los Angeles Rams at No. 15 (if they don't trade up) and the Denver Broncos at No. 31.

The trade for Colin Kaepernick will likely stay at a standstill until one of these franchises figures out who they want as their signal caller. Lynch to the Broncos seems to make too much sense, especially when you still have the core pieces of an incredible defense and Mark Sanchez is the only quarterback on your roster.

The Rams stated they are comfortable leaning on Case Keenum to open up this season (which is obviously a lie/misdirection), however, when it really comes down to it, the Rams will select a quarterback at some point as it is a serious position of need. Lynch is expected to be one of the top prospects in the 2016 NFL draft, but he may not be looking to start as soon as enters the league.

Lynch said he would not mind sitting behind a veteran for a year or two to learn and grow. There are only several teams in that specific position, where they could draft a quarterback for the future but also have him sit for a while. The Dallas Cowboys immediately jump to the top of that list, but the Pittsburgh Steelers, San Diego Chargers, Green Bay Packers or even the New York Giants fit Lynch's ideal situation.

Lynch would likely be just as happy to be drafted to a team that could fully utilize his talents. In reality, the list of first round quarterbacks who immediately started and eventually failed is longer than the list of those that were drafted to wait and succeeded.
