Marvel has slowly but surely built up their interconnected small screen world on Netflix. Sure, "Agents of SHIELD" and other smaller scale projects all technically take place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But it is the studio's growing Netflix empire that is the real gem of the MCU's television side.

It all began with "Daredevil," starring Charlie Cox, which debuted last year to widespread acclaim from critics and fans alike. Then came "Jessica Jones," starring Krysten Ritter, which was greeted with similar positivity and excitement. One aspect of "Jessica Jones" that really stood out was Mike Colter's Luke Cage, who is getting his own spinoff series, "Luke Cage."

As of now, not much is known about the mysterious spinoff. However, Colter himself finally revealed when fans can expect to see it while at the "Daredevil" red carpet even last night.

"It's going to be action-packed, from beginning to the very end. Trust me," Colter said. "'Daredevil' premieres March 18, and I will see the fans on September 30th.

"You heard it here first."

Well, there you have it. This fall will bring about the long anticipated solo series for Colter's super powered giant with a heart of gold. But similar to Marvel's other Netflix properties, "Luke Cage" promises to continue the dark, mature and grounded tone set by its predecessors.

"Luke Cage' is going to find Luke right after 'Jessica Jones,'" Colter said in a separate interview. "He's uptown and basically licking his wounds, I would say. You're going to know exactly what I mean when I say that. He's trying to figure out what is his next step and it's hard because he doesn't know where to go from here. He's lost a lot and he's basically in a state of turmoil."

"Luke Cage," will then be followed by an "Iron Fist" standalone season starring "Game of Thrones" actor Finn Jones. These four individual shows will culminate in a "Defenders" mini-series which will see all four heroes join forces in an epic cross over. Think of it as a street level Avengers team-up.
