Atlanta-based rapper Bankroll Fresh, aka Trentavious White, was fatally shot inside a recording studio on Friday night.

The 28-year-old rapper, a known associate of 2 Chainz, was rushed to a nearby hospital following a shootout at Street Execs Studios in Atlanta on Friday, but the "Hot Boy" rapper succumbed to his injuries at the hospital later.

Law enforcement officers recovered more than 50 shell casings from the studio, which is home to rappers like 2 Chainz and Travis Porter among others. Officers are still trying to determine the motive behind the murder and those responsible for it.

"Shortly after units arrived, it was learned that at least one victim was shot and was transported away from the scene in an unknown vehicle," Atlanta police said, before confirming that the victim died of gunshot wounds at Hughes Spalding Hospital.

Bankroll Fresh gained popularity with his 2014 mixtape "Life of a Hot Boy" and has worked with the likes of Lil Wayne, Juvenile, Turk, 2 Chainz and many others. Following his death, his peers from the hip-hop industry took to social media to pay their respects to the late rapper.

"Man I'm a fan of Bru and always will be. I'm in shock at the moment!! Senseless deaths we just got to stop it, I'm speaking up now," Chainz wrote, whereas Lil Wayne tweeted, "We lost a good one. Rest peacefully lil homie Bankroll u gon always be family."
