Up-and-coming rapper Doe B was shot and killed at an Alabama nightclub early in the morning on Saturday, Dec. 28. According to Billboard.com, the 22-year-old rapper was signed to Grand Hustle Records by founder T.I. No arrests have been made in the shooting.

Doe B, whose real name was Glenn Thomas, and another person identified as a 21-year-old female bystander, were fatally shot during an altercation at the Centennial Bar and Grill on Highland Avenue in Montgomery, Ala. The shooting also left six people injured.

Police identified the second victim as Kimberle Johnson who, according to her Instagram page, had turned 21 that week, was a student at Troy University in Troy, Ala. and was working towards a career as a social worker. Doe B's management confirmed the death on his Twitter page writing:

Following the shooting Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange immediately ordered the nightclub to shut down.

"I believe it is not a matter of 'if,' but 'when' the next tragic incident occurs at this business," he said in a written statement, WSFA 12 News reports. "That is unacceptable, and that is why we have ordered the business to be closed effective immediately."

According to Billboard, Centennial is in a small building that once housed the Rose Supper Club, which was the site of December 2012 shooting that left six people injured.

Rapper Doe B was signed to the management firm the Blueprint Group, who released a statement following the tragic loss:

"Doe B was an amazing young man, in every sense of the word. A truly talented artist, a loving father and a dedicated member of the hip hop community at large, he touched the lives of the many people who had the privilege of knowing him. The Blueprint Group offers our condolences to our Doe B label partners Interscope/Hustle Gang, his management DJ Frank White and Brooklyn Knights, and most of all his family, friends and fans at this very difficult time. We ask that you remember him not by his untimely death, but by his love of life and the music he left behind."
