Sanjay Dutt, who was released from Yerawada jail on Thursday after serving a five-year prison sentence in connection with the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts case, has been cast in director Siddharth Anand's next film.

"We will be working on a film soon. It's an action film (yet to be titled) with elements of thrill," said the "Bang Bang" director, according to The Hindustan Times. "We will begin shooting in summer."

The film is likely to be Dutt's first project after his release, according to an insider. "Sanjay Dutt's first film, after his release from jail, will be directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Kriaj Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. and Essel Vision Productions," the source said, according to DNA.

"Shooting will start from July after look tests, workshops and pre-production work which is starting from March. Siddharth's film will be a slick and stylish action-thriller. It's been an almost neck-to-neck race with Umesh Shukla's film which is being produced by Anurag Shrivastav and Rohit Chaudhury (Bahul)," the source revealed before adding that Dutt will start working on Shukla's project after the filmmaker wraps up "102 Not Out," starring Amitabh Bachchan and Paresh Rawal.

Anand's film will be a big-budget project and will be shot in more than six countries. The project has not yet landed its female lead, but it is expected to start production this summer and is slated to release towards the end of this year.

The director, whose credits also include "Anjaana Anjaani," "Bachna Ae Haseeno" and "Salaam Namaste," announced that he was working on a "Rambo"-inspired Bollywood trilogy last month, according to the Times of India.
