A GIF library will soon be available on Twitter, allowing users to search for a GIF they wish to insert into their tweets or even send as direct messages.

Soon enough, Twitter users, whether on iOS, Android or the Web, can click their compose window and see a GIF library icon alongside already existing features like Poll and Location. Clicking on the icon will lead users to a list of categories they can choose from, and a search bar will also be available for those who already have a specific GIF in mind, according to Fortune.

"If you're looking for the perfect cat yawn or dance move to express exactly how you feel, just click the new GIF button and you can search by keyword, or browse categories of different reactions like Happy Dance, Mic Drop, or YOLO," wrote Sasank Reddy, senior product manager, on a Twitter blog post.

Aside from the GIF library, Twitter has also made possible the sharing of videos via DMs. The social media company has been looking for ways to make its messaging platform more appealing to its users, starting with the disabling of the 140 characters limit for DMs. With the added video sharing feature through direct messaging, Twitter hopes that its messaging feature will come close to other famous platforms like Facebook Messenger, Line and WhatsApp, according to PC World.
